What is JT SplatMaster
JT SplatMaster is a low impact product that shoots color filled round ammo resulting in a splat. The ammo is 100% biodegradable; non-toxic, resists stains, and easily washes away with water. The JT SplatMasters are spring loaded and shoot at a velocity of 110-140 feet per second. At this speed, you can see the ammo in the air before you see the satisfaction of your splat.
JT SplatMaster was engineered so kids, and adults, ages 9+ could easily cock, load, and fire. JT SplatMaster is a versatile product that can be played in your backyard – simply follow a few guidelines and rules, including always wearing your JT Optix for eye protection, and you will have hours and hours of safe, outdoor fun.
After learning the safety basics, new JT SplatMasters should start by shooting targets and advance to obstacle course activities. With proper care, the gelatin shell of JT SplatMaster Ammo will have a low impact break and is not painful. How to Store Your Ammo
For best results, store JT SplatMaster Ammo in a climate controlled, dark place, like a basement or a closet. For optimal performance, keep your ammo between, 60 Degrees Fahrenheit/15 Degrees Celsius and 86 Degrees Fahrenheit/30 Degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of no more than 50%. Avoid contact with water. Do not freeze. Avoid high temperatures. Do not store in your vehicle. Avoid direct sunlight. Do not store outdoors. Follow these recommendations to keep your JT SplatMaster Ammo in perfect condition and ready for the next time you play.
Safety is Priority #1
Always wear JT SplatMaster Optix Goggles eye protection, including non-players within range. When ready to graduate to player vs. player games – always use the JT SplatMaster Optix Upgrade for full face protection – which includes nose, mouth and ear protection. Always keep the barrel blocker in the barrel and leave the safety ‘on’ when not firing. Never look down the barrel. Never shoot at or in the direction of windows or other fragile objects. Don’t shoot at other players at a distance of less than ten feet. Use only as directed – and read the manual included with every JT SplatMaster before engaging in play.
General Shooting Safety
Always wear eye protection when using your JT SplatMaster – including non-players within range. Keep your safety ‘on’ and barrel blocker in when not playing with your JT SplatMaster. Always point your JT SplatMaster in a safe direction – never toward people not playing against you (with proper Optix Upgrade full face protection) or animals. Always treat your JT SplatMaster as loaded – never look down the barrel. When not firing, keep your finger off the trigger. Always store your JT SplatMaster unloaded – you don’t want anyone else picking it up thinking it’s not loaded. Know your target – never shoot toward a blind spot – always know what you’re aiming at before putting your finger on the trigger.
What Parents Should Understand About JT SplatMaster
JT SplatMaster is a shooting activity that involves a degree of safety needed to play. Eye protection is essential, regardless of style of play. When playing player versus player games – the JT SplatMaster Optix Upgrade is required. The Optix Upgrade has the proper nose, mouth and ear protection necessary when playing against another person. When target shooting or obstacle course activities always wear your Optix Goggles – including non-players within range.
JT SplatMaster Ammo is specifically designed to break at the lower velocities the JT SplatMasters fire at. The Ammo is 100% biodegradable and easily washes off surfaces it marks. The color-filled round ammo will splat on contact and show you exactly where you hit. This makes it ideal for target shooting games and obstacle course play. If you keep your JT SplatMaster stored correctly, it will stay fresh and be ready to play whenever you are. Always keep your JT SplatMaster Ammo stored in a cool, dry play. If your Ammo isn’t performing correctly, it may not have been stored properly. Try putting the Ammo in your fridge for 10-15 minutes and that will freshen it up for your next game.
Other general safety guidelines for playing with your JT SplatMaster include; use a barrel plug when not playing, keep the safety engaged when not playing or reloading, don’t keep your finger on the trigger, know your target before shooting, never look down the barrel, don’t point at other people or animals, never keep your JT SplatMaster stored with ammo.

Two (or more) player challenges are more fun than playing alone, especially for a party. We would recommend the z200 Ready to Play Package or the z100 Ready to Play Package to get started, plus one additional JT SplatMaster and Optix Goggle for the second player. You could mix it up between the z100 Pistol and the z200 Shotgun, or get two of the same.
First and foremost, JT SplatMaster is a target shooting game. All players and spectators within range are required to wear Optix Goggles that protect the eyes. Basic safety guidelines can be found in the Safety Section of our website. Follow the basic rules and JT SplatMaster is a fun, safe and accurate target shooting activity.
When you’re ready to up your game, and party to the next level – it’s time to introduce player vs. player games. Whenever playing against one-another, always use the JT Optix Goggles with Upgrade. The Optix Upgrade provides nose, mouth and ear protection needed when playing against each other.
Target Shooting Game
Bring out the old fashioned can shooting with some recycling, set it up and shoot it down. Targets are provided with every JT SplatMaster, perfect to post to a tree or fence in your own backyard.
Same premise as HORSE, but with your JT SplatMaster. First player calls their shot at a target. If the shot is made, the second player has to make the same shot. If the second player misses the shot, they get an S. The game continues until only one player doesn’t have the word SPLAT.
Bust out some chairs, boxes and a JT SplatMaster Nuke Bunker and you’ve got an obstacle course. Set it up along with some targets and you’ve got a timed challenge ready for horde of energetic kids.
